Saw V

26th July

Another awaited movie that I want to watch is the Saw series, Saw V. It will release during Halloween, October.

Saw V is the continuous from Saw I, II, III and IV. The trailer has not been released yet. I just can;t wait to see the trailer. After Saw V, will there be Saw VI? Hmmmm, I hope it will end at Saw V and start with a new movie.

Sypnosis
With everyone else dead and rotting, it’s up to Hoffman to continue Jigsaw’s murderous traditions. When he feels that his identity might be discovered, the killer has to use all his training as a detective to track down anything–and anyone–that might expose him.

Mirrors

25th July

I watched the trailer when I was in the cinema watching The Dark Knight and The X-Files: I Want to Believe. The trailer attracted my attention. It seems to be a horror movie.

I checked in Wikipedia and noticed that this movie is actually a remake of the Korean movie Into The Mirror. I watched this Korean horror movie before. It was nice.

Mirrors is starring Kiefer Sutherland, the one in the series 24. The director is from the movie The Hills Have Eyes, Alexandre Aja.

I will try to watch this movie in the cinema. I hope it will not scare me! :)

Synopsis:
Kiefer Sutherland plays an ex-cop turned night security guard at a long-closed department store ravaged by fire. He discovers something awry in the store’s mirrors, which seem to bring out the worst in people and realises that they harbour a horrific secret that threatens him and his family.

Genre: Thriller
General Release: 14 August 2008

The X-Files: I Want to Believe

24th July

Just one day after I watched The Dark Knight, I went to the cinema again to watch my favorite movie, The X-Files: I Want to Believe. I bought the ticket on the day I watched The Dark Knight.

I thought it will have aliens, but it turn out to be no. However, the whole movie was exciting and nice! I just like to see Mulder and Scully once again. Mulder becomes fatter while Scully is thinner in the movie.

I want to continue watching the X-Files series again. Oh, I just loved X-Files!

X-Files fans, don’t miss this movie!

Synopsis:
This cinematic follow-up to the very popular TV series continues with the complicated relationship between FBI Agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) as it takes them to unexpected directions. Mulder continues his unshakable quest for the truth, and Scully - the passionate, ferociously intelligent physician - remains inextricably tied to Mulder’s pursuits.

The Dark Knight

23rd July

Finally, I watched The Dark Knight.

First, my 2nd sister told me it was nice. Later, my brother told me the same thing. He asked me to go and watch. I have no time to go to the cinema last week. I was busy. The other day, I talked with my 3rd sister. To my surprise, she also watched it! Normally, I will be the one who watched first and telling them which one is nice. This time, it was the other way round.

The movie was quite good and exciting. But there is some part I seem to be fall asleep. I think I was tired that day. The joker was evil. But he was very pity. He became who he was due to his family problem during his childhood.

If you have not watched yet, you can go to the cinema near you and grab the ticket. It’s entertaining!

Synopsis:
A follow-up to “Batman Begins”, “The Dark Knight” reunites director Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne. Now, Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organisations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as the Joker.

General Release: 17 July 2008
Running Time: 2 Hours 32 Minutes

Red Cliff Part 1

13th July

At first, I think of going to the cinema to watch this movie. Later, I changed my mind. There are so many movies to watch in this month. I think I better skip this one and watch others. I will just get the DVD when it releases.

Synopsis:
With a budget of US$80million, “Red Cliff” is the most expensive Asian-financed film to date. The movie is based on historical records of “The Chronicles of the Three Kingdom” rather than the novel, “Romance of the Three Kingdom”. In the early third century, the land of Wu is invaded by the warlord Cao Cao and his soldiers. The ruler of Wu, Sun Quan (Chang Chen), calls on the rival warlord Liu Bei (You Yong) for help, but their two armies are still badly outnumbered. However, the strategists Zhou Yu (Tony Leung) and Zhuge Liang (Takeshi Kaneshiro) see that Cao Cao’s army is unused to battling on the sea. With 200,000 men, Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang defeat Cao Cao’s army at the Yangtze River.

General Release: 17 July 2008
Running Time: 2 Hours 8 Minutes
Distributed by: Golden Screen Cinemas

10th July

I want to believe!!!

Yes, X-Files 2 is coming to theater 2 weeks from now. It has been X years since the last X-Files. Haha, I forgot how many years, so to me, it was X years ago!

I cannot remember when I started to like X-Files. I was not able to follow all the series when it was showed in the TV. I miss most of them. Now, I have Season 1 and Season 2 DVD. Maybe I will try to grab the rest of the season if possible….

X-Files: I Want to Believe is a cannot miss movie to all the X-Files fans!

Wanted

1st July

If you don’t know this movie is actually based on a comic, you will think that this movie was a little bit too much. There are many scenes that are impossible to happen in real life: the bullet that can go curve, the car can turn 360 degree on the air and the driver can still manage to kill people during the turning, the bullet can kill the target although it was many buildings away (I think more than 10 buildings), and etc.

Overall, Wanted is just a normal action movie with many unbelievable special effects. You can check out this movie if you want to see Angelina Jolie. She is cool!!

Synopsis:
Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) finds out that his long lost father is an assassin. When his father is murdered, Wesley is recruited into his father’s organisation and trained by a man named Sloan (Morgan Freeman) to follow in his dad’s footsteps.

The Happening

15th June

If you have watched The Sixth Sense, The Sign and Lady In The Water, I’m sure you will be like me, waiting for the latest movie The Happening, directed by M. Night Shyamalan.

The Happening has a very strong message to all the viewers. We need to take good care of our environment and the most important, our mother Earth. We have polluted our environment so badly and caused so many issues, such as global warming. If we keep on doing the bad things to the mother Earth, IT will revenge to the mankind one day.

I like the movie though. :)

Synopsis:
“The Happening” is a paranoid thriller about a teacher, Elliott Moore (Mark Wahlberg), who takes his family on the run, in an attempt to survive a natural global environmental crisis that presents a large-scale threat to humanity. This film portrays the earth as being a victim of mankind’s doings, which causes a global backlash. An invisible neurotoxin is admitted into the air that causes people to become suicidal.

Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull

24th May

Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull is the long awaited movie for this summer! I went to the cinema to watch this movie 2 days after it released.

I like this movie more than Chronicles Of Narnia: The Prince Caspian which is released one week before Indiana Jones. It was funny, adventurous, exciting and the most important ALIEN! Yes, the crystal skull is the Alien’s skull actually.

If you like Indiana Jones, this latest sequel is the one you cannot miss.

Synopsis:
Indiana Jones is enjoying a quiet life teaching before being thrust back into his old adventuring. He races against agents of the Soviet Union for the crystal skull. His journey will take him across New Mexico, Connecticut, Mexico City and the jungles of Peru, as well as the warehouse from the end of “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, where numerous treasures including the Ark of the Covenant are kept safe by the US government.
